Launched on Sunday 14th November 1999, The TV Room started out life as the TV presentation anorak’s equivalent of a stamp collection – with a vast library of stills, video and background information about channel idents and programme title sequences/set design.
Within a few years, the site expanded to include talent profiles, old programme schedules and features.
After a number of years of hiatus, the site returned in autumn 2018, with a clean canvas and a new structure.
The TV Room logo and associated branding was produced by Martin Anderson.
TV Pres partnership
The TV Room is a founding member of the TV Pres partnership.
TV Pres was created to promote high-quality, curated video content from a range of independently produced television presentation websites, where there is an emphasis on accurately documenting the history of TV ephemera such as idents, promotions, advertisements and programme graphics/set design.
Participating websites are required to self-host all video content. YouTube channels may be used to further promote material already available on the website operation.
