BBC graphic designer James Mobbs confirmed on Saturday evening that new titles will soon be filmed for BBC Breakfast ahead of the programme’s switch to the BBC Reith font.

The BBC’s domestic TV news service is expected to implement on-air changes – including a change from Helvetica and Gill Sans fonts to BBC Reith – by late-May or early June. No date has yet been made public.

Last year, it had been rumoured that BBC Breakfast would be moving to a new studio within BBC Media City in Salford. There has been no further news about this potential location change.
