V Creative’s brief was to update Channel 5’s identity to mark a shift in tone and ambition for the programme schedule, reflected by original drama and big-scale documentary commissions.
We put the logo back at the centre of the channel’s on air look and feel, now presented as a beautifully rendered 3D lightbox.V Creative
The channel idents feature a prominent ‘5’ logo, and come in the following range of colours:
- Dark Green
- Dark Teal
It would appear that there are two animations of the ‘5’ logo – available in each of the above colours. Additionally, each animation/colour combination seems to come in at least two versions – each with a different soundtrack (though the difference is quite subtle).
There are many break bumpers in circulation, featuring imagery from the idents.
The programme promotion endboards are also based on the ident visuals – though a dark grey colour scheme has been included in the colour palette here. It is not clear if an ident with a similar dark grey colour is available for use (for serious/sombre programme content).
