Idents/Clocks [1]
Coverage of Border branding/presentation.
Unfortunately, we don't have much footage of Border continuity in our archive. If you can help fill in the gaps in our history of the station's on-air identity, then please drop us a line. Please refer to our
Contact page.
Above: Border ident [1]. The first ident from Border, used throughout the 1960s.
A colour version of this ident followed later, with the word 'COLOUR' beneath the channel ID. Neither ident was animated. The official line on the station logo was that it suggested 'in abstract design, the two distinct parts of the region brought together by the electronic medium'. That's chopsticks in a bowl to the rest of us.
Above: Border ident [2]. Introduced in the 1970s, this ident remained in use during most of the 1980s.
Above: Border ident [3]. Introduced in 1993. However, the ITV corporate theme tune remained.
