Idents [2] - Daytime
On April 11 2005, ITV 1 rebranded its weekday daytime programming under the moniker ITV Day. The new presentation package - developed by Bruce Dunlop Associates - was intended to delineate the ITV Day branding from the rest of ITV 1.
The colour scheme of yellow, orange and red was designed to represent the colour and warmth of the sun, suggesting daytime, while the ITV logo remained blue, linking back to the rest of the ITV family of logos.
Commenting on the new look, Honor Bartlett, group managing director of BDA, said: "This latest addition to the ITV family of brands has been a great opportunity for us to create a lighter, more female identity package to sit alongside the ITV 1, 2, 3 and News identities we have already developed.
"We hope the change from daytime to 'Day' will help to give a boost to that portion of ITV's output as much as the new programming and schedule."
