The Christmas ident first appeared on Saturday December 22. As with many of the main UK channels, Christmas presentation remained longer than usual this year on RTÉ Network 2, lasting through until the end of New Year's Eve. The introduction of this year's Christmas presentation package also marked the end of in-vision continuity on RTÉ Network 2.
