Idents 1
Five launched a new on-air look on January 23 2006, introducing idents based on emotions. The new sequences - which debuted at 10pm, just ahead of the first episode of new drama, 'Prison Break' - did not feature the channel's logo; instead, viewers would see images inspired by words such as play, risk, life, free and rush.
Jane Scott, Five's head of marketing initiated the changes. Scott joined the channel from the BBC in June 2005. The new idents were commissioned by head of creative services, Nol Davis and created by branding agency BB/Saunders. They were shot in Prague and the UK by Hungry Man, with post production by Finish and 3D work by Realise. The director was Samuel Christopher; Matt Jones produced. The music was by Tanuki 8.
Speaking about the changes, Nol Davis said: "This is a confident evolution of Five's already strong on air image. It represents much more than a corporate logo, it is a living and breathing embodiment of everything the channel stands for."
