Sianel Pedwar Cymru - Channel 4 Wales. S4C was established by the 1980/1981 Broadcasting Acts. The channel was launched at 6pm on Monday November 01 1982. S4C was the new home for all Welsh language television programmes in Wales; prior to this, such programmes were to be found within the BBC and HTV schedules.
