Programme promotion graphics varied considerably on BBC One during this period. There was no fixed format as such, as the examples below demonstrate. However, towards the end of the 1980s, attempts to standardise the graphics were becoming apparent; each new TV season had its own promotion animation sequence; a short version or still from this animation would be used on end boards.
